Fitt USA was a proposal opportunity for Gray Construction. This Italian company specializes in garden hoses and is planning its USA headquarters in Mooresville, NC. In learning about the company, they stressed high design and sustainability. They gave an extensive brand guideline for us to follow.

The goal of the proposal was for Gray to jump out at Fitt. Our company had gotten to the party late and needed to close the gap fast. Working over a couple of weekends, we put together a set of plans and renderings that not only got us noticed, but eventually won us the proposal. In this effort, I was tasked with the Office Space layout and Facade design.

The first move was using their squiggly branding as the canopy. Fluidity is their mainstay, so the curve had to be bold and useful. They also loved their 3 colors so the entrance announces that both artistically and structurally.

On the inside, The ceiling forms direct movement through the lobby. In the office, the glazing and vegetation work in concert to not only bring in nature and note the passage of time, but also provide privacy.

A big reason we won this proposal was the attention to detail. I designed the ‘Covid’ desks in the office, and the front lobby desk based on their brand guidelines. Fitt was so impressed that we are now exploring if we can have the office furniture manufactured.
